Taking Action for Biodiversity

Following the recommendations in the report ‘Biodiversity: The UK Action Plan’, the North East Scotland Biodiversity Partnership was established with members drawn from local government, environmental organisations, wildlife charities and hosted by what is now the James Hutton Institute.

The NESBiP Big 5

In 2013, NatureScot and Visit Scotland launched Scotland’s Big 5. NESBiP closely followed suit and launched the North East Big 5. The campaign was a great success, with communities joining together to protect them. In 2025, we revisited the list and launched the NESBiP Big 5. Discover how to protect them.
